杜の都に覇を唱え

個人的にとても面白いブログを見つけた。「茶畑短期大学」。僕と同じ高校出身の若者による、母校への愛が溢れた内容である。彼は今年卒業したばかりの元応援団幹部らしい。若いなあ。いいなあ。

生徒の無気力化、応援団幹部の人材不足など、自分が現役だった頃と同じ内容の危機が伝えられているのが興味深い。しかし、人材不足のほうは昔より更に深刻らしい。あの頃は学年に数人しか幹部希望者が居ない、その内幹部の居ない学年が出るんじゃないかとか言われていたぐらいだった。二高では遂に幹部が完全に居なくなったとな。ほお。

網地島巡検におけるエビ発見の話もあってまたびっくり。これ、うちの代の話じゃないか？ただ、元記事にあるように「日本最古のエビ発見」ではなく「新種のエビ発見」だった。河北新報にも乗ったし、テレビの地方ニュースにもなったはず。その話が語り継がれる途中で歪んだのか？それとも、後輩で最古のエビを発見した人が別に出たのか？

更に、同窓会のページにもたどり着く。卒業生にとっては、確かに「音楽室」で聞ける応援歌、凱歌の数々は非常に懐かしい。動画もノスタルジック。泣ける。妻に聞かせたら「物凄い男子校の雰囲気」との感想。思い返すに、あの雰囲気はあの頃にしか味わえない貴重なものであったことだよ。後にも先にも、あの雰囲気はもちろん、あれに似た雰囲気さえ他の場所で味わった覚えはない。

数えてみると、自分が高校を卒業してから15年（高42回生）。この15年での自分の人生の変わり具合は、あの時全く予想していなかった。社会人になって10年も経てば自分の会社内での位置も固まり、今後どのように進んで行くのかが見えているのだろうなどと、あの頃は思っていた。9年半経った今、全然固まってない気がする。これからどうしようかなあ、といつも考えながら生きていけるほうが先が見えた人生より良いのかも知れないなあ、などとぐるぐる思考を巡らせる平日の夜である。

エビ化石の件ですが、学校の地学の授業で配られた「宮城の地学ガイド」（平成５年三訂版、宮城県高等学校理科研究会地学部会編）の表紙写真に使われているもので、その下に「日本最古のエビの化石」と注が入っております。１９８７年のことであるそうです。

１９８７年と言えばまさしく私の学年です（当時1年生）。私の記憶違いか、後に日本最古であることが判明したかのどちらかでしょう。後世に語り継がれる出来事が自分の学年から出ていたのはなんだか嬉しいです。自分は網地島でなにも特別なことはしませんでしたが、鯨の赤身と脂身の刺身が最高に旨かったことを覚えています。

Ｋ先生が件の生徒が居眠りをしてたのを発見し、
「えび見つけたからといっていきがるんじゃねぇ」
と、マジ切れしてた事件を聞いてます。
　わたしゃ、海に飛び込んだことくらいしか覚えてないな。皆と違ってその手の記憶がからきしと来てる。あとなぜかうにがうまかったような。

未だに先が見えないのは安定するような方向を避けているからという理由もあります。まだアメリカと日本のどちらの国をベースに生きるかも決めかねている状態なので…。
